Social media crisis can be damaging to a company if the wrong portrayal of the company has gone viral. However there are those times when a company can make a bold statement and instead of facing heavy backlash the company's business can begin to flourish for a short period of time. For example on June 16th, 2012 Chick-fil-a's Dan Cathy made an statement opposing same-sex marriage and instead of losing business or newsfeed full of negative statements, supporters lined up and waited in line for hours to order food to support their agreeance with Chick-fil-a. The company even kept it's doors open on that following sunday(typically closed on sundays) giving the company widespread media coverage. The only backlash the company faced was the loss of many LGBT customers, Jim Henson (toys in kids meals), and many college and university students protesting that the chain be removed from their schools.

that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.

Gamification: The marketing world for games
In gamification the marketing team develops a new way to brand game using persuasive design techniques to keep customer loyalty, engagement, and community management. Many developers look to behavioral research on their consumers, like if the consumer is persuaded by rewards and recognition. Gamification focuses on the the branding of a game, whether its creating apps, websites, blogs, incorporating the game into media, or merchandise. Developers are trying to find what it is that makes a consumer come back and stay loyal to their game, while remaining a fun innovate and engaging product. By using the techniques of gaming and applying them to nontraditional gaming settings the developers of brand create game mechanics the triggers engagement among the audience. Goal is to use consumer thinking and game mechanics to engage in product placement that creates the loyalty to the brand.

Chad Ochocinco once seen as one of the best NFL players of all time, used twitter to highlight the accomplishments in life both professional and personal. He gain many followers by keeping his tweets positive. Ochocinco presented himself as smart, charmingThe majority of female followers came when he started a relationship with reality tv star Evelyn Lozada. The couple captured every moment of their relationship through twitter, personal blogs, and Instagram. The couples relationship was also shown on reality tv, they seemed to have it all and the couple soon married. However a month after marriage Chad found himself in the middle of a social media frenzy. The social media world was buzzing about the domestic dispute between the couple. The media world was shocked to learn that Chad had hit his new bride. Tmz, twitter, and Mediatakeout reported on this story for days. And when the NFL got involved Chad found himself begging and pleading for a job. Chad turn to twitter to for forgiveness from his followers and confess his love for Evelyn. But it was I use because people had begun to constantly tweet Chad pictures of Evelyn's face.

Sports news, updates, and events already have their place in media through newspapers, magazines, and television networks. But the importance of having Sports on social media websites is that it provides real time feedback and just-in updates. Social media platforms allows for the audience to feel more connected to the sport, player(s), or team they love. Bad or Good social media has slowly became the "news" source in many users lives.
